The Inspiration Behind the Bicultural Series
The inspiration for my novels came from wanting to see more multicultural adventure and action in historical romance. I loved the sweeping emotion of stories like
Outlander and the danger, grit, and high-stakes world of Black Sails, but I wanted to create something with characters and cultures I did not often see at the center of those kinds of stories.
My goal was to write romance with movement, danger, survival, and passion. I wanted love stories that crossed oceans, kingdoms, and cultural expectations, while still giving readers the action, tension, and cinematic feel of an adventure.
These books were born from that desire: to create bold, emotional historical romances where love is not quiet, survival is never guaranteed, and the characters must fight for more than just their hearts.
Each book follows characters forced into unfamiliar worlds, where love is tested by danger, betrayal, culture, and impossible choices. These are not quiet romances. They are stories of survival, power, longing, and the courage it takes to love across boundaries.
Book One opens the door to a world where survival is a daily battle and love is a rare treasure.
Book One -TAKEN begins with Princess Nzingha, a woman struggling with heartbreak after losing the man she believed she would spend her life with. Betrayed by her father and left to face an uncertain future, her world is shattered when she is captured by pirates and thrust into a desperate fight for survival.
Her path crosses with Andrew Barton, a Scottish merchant captain who quickly proves to be as stubborn as he is persistent. Nzingha finds him irritating, intrusive, and impossible to ignore. Yet as danger surrounds them and survival depends on trust, she begins to see the honorable man beneath his relentless charm.
Together they endure hardship, violence, and impossible odds, forging a bond neither expected. While Andrew dreams of a future with her, Nzingha is reluctant to give away her heart a second time, believing that what they shared was only a brief chapter in a much larger story.
Book Two- RAVAGED: Alex, a man who has spent years running from commitment and hiding behind women, whiskey, and bad decisions. Beneath his charm is a man still carrying the pain of loss, convinced that nothing good lasts and that love is a risk he cannot afford to take. Then he meets Yvonne. What begins as attraction slowly becomes something deeper, but Alex refuses to acknowledge it. The more he cares for her, the harder he pushes her away. While Yvonne fights to build a future, Alex remains trapped by his fears and the ghosts of his past.
When tragedy strikes and something precious is lost, Alex is forced to face the consequences of his choices. For the first time, he must decide whether love is worth the pain that comes with it—or if some mistakes cost too much to fix.
A story of love, loss, regret, and redemption, Ravaged explores what happens when a man realizes too late that the one thing he has been running from is the very thing he needs most.
Book Three - FATE brings Haemish and Annabella’s story to life in an emotional conclusion about love, insecurity, and acceptance. Haemish believes he is not good enough for Annabella, so he keeps his distance and tries to ignore what he feels. But Annabella sees beyond his doubts, his past, and the things he thinks make him unworthy. She does not care who he believes he is. She only cares about the man standing in front of her.
The unique blend of action-adventure and romance in my writing comes from placing love in the middle of danger.
